Breaking Free of the Cliches
By Marian Glaser © 1978
Each human is walled in.
Bricks of cliches are laid on bricks of assumptions,
mortared with fears and suspicions,
Feeling your hand against mine
made me sense our hands travelling to a space
where phase change was common,
Each electron kissed its neighbour.
My isolation vanished,
my mortar melted
in this fully realised moment.
